Most homeowners don't think about their irrigation system until something goes wrong. By then, it's usually spring, and they're looking at cracked lines, busted heads, or a backflow preventer that didn't survive the winter. That's the kind of repair that's easy to avoid - if you get ahead of it.

Here's the reality: water expands when it freezes. Any residual water left sitting in your underground lines doesn't need much of a cold snap to cause damage. A proper blowout uses compressed air to push every last bit of water out of the system, zone by zone, so there's nothing left to freeze and crack.

We run a dedicated compressor setup specifically for irrigation blowouts. Each zone gets cleared thoroughly - not rushed. It's one of those jobs where cutting corners just moves the problem down the road, so we don't.

If you've been putting it off or just haven't gotten around to scheduling it yet, now is the time. The window between now and the first hard freeze is shorter than people expect. A little planning now means you're turning your system back on in the spring without any surprises waiting for you underground.
